South West London property: The most exclusive addresses
Outside of the prime central London, there are many areas to consider when looking for a South West London property several of which boast extremely exclusive residential addresses. These prestigious properties rarely come to the market and command prices comparable to those of homes in central London.
With so much greenery, excellent schools, good transport connections and many micro centres with village atmospheres it’s little wonder there are so many desirable places to live in south west London.
Fulham, SW6
Situated north of the river but very much within south west London, Fulham is a particularly prestigious area and one considered by many seeking a South West London property.
There are a few pockets of residential properties in Fulham which are especially sought after. Fulham is popular with professionals and families alike, there are an abundance of excellent local amenities, several transport connections and good schooling options.
The Peterborough Estate is a highly desirable area within Fulham, the properties here are predominantly Lion Houses; redbrick Victorian terraces, built over a single period in time they have a unified appearance. The houses are dubbed Lion Houses due to the lion statues on the gables of the houses which were put there at the time of building by Jimmy Nichols.
Including roads such as Quarrendon Street, Chipstead St, Perrymead Street and Coniger Road, the Peterborough Estate is a conservation area located just south of the New Kings Road. Residents benefit from being only a short distance from the amenities and transport connections at both Parsons Green and Fulham Broadway.
Near to Parsons Green Station the roads either side of Fulham Road such as Radipole Road and Mimosa Street are filled with large family homes and period properties which have been converted into flats.
Near to Fulham Broadway and the Fulham and Chelsea border there are many roads which boast some of Fulham’s most exclusive addresses. Properties overlooking Eel Brook Common on Musgrave Crescent are sought after due to their green aspect and proximity to Fulham Broadway station and amenities. Towards Chelsea there are several desirable streets, and tucked away properties such as those within Britannia Studios.

Battersea, SW11
Property types in Battersea are a mix of modern apartment buildings on the riverfront and period properties. The most exclusive modern developments include Albion Riverside, Waterside Point and Montevetro.
Large period houses on Battersea’s most desirable roads rarely become available to buy, the area is particularly popular with families for the access to the green spaces of Battersea Park, the excellent schools and being only a bridge away from central London.
When looking for a South West London property and considering Battersea, buyers will find the properties near to the park have the most exclusive addresses from the mansion blocks on Prince of Wales Drive and properties on Albert Bridge Road to the houses tucked away on the streets behind.
On the other side of Battersea Park the Chelsea Bridge Wharf development is a collection of highly sought after buildings with those on the highest floors boasting far reaching views of the river, Battersea Park and much of London.
Wimbledon, SW19
Many choose to move to Wimbledon attracted by the spacious properties, generous gardens and all whilst having good transport connections to reach central London as necessary.
Wimbledon Village is the most prestigious area of Wimbledon with roads such as Parkside Avenue, Parkside Gardens, Deepdale and Marryat Road amongst the most exclusive Wimbledon addresses.
Clapham, SW4
South of Battersea, Clapham is a notoriously popular place for families to live, there are many quiet residential roads on which period family homes can be found. The good schooling options and access to the vast space of Clapham Common along with the pockets of boutique and independent shops and cafes found around Clapham Old Town, Northcote Road and Abbeville Village, make the area very appealing.

Barnes, SW13

Many of the houses back onto Barnes Wetland Centre whilst others have a riverfront position, the development offers residents a tranquil surrounding whilst still only being a short distance from the delights of Barnes Village.
